The Car

The Jaguar XJS V12, a grand tourer that succeeded the iconic E-Type, is a notable chapter in Jaguar's storied history, blending luxury, elegance, and performance.

Introduced in 1975 and in production until 1996, the XJS was initially met with mixed reactions due to its departure from the E-Type's classic design. However, it eventually won acclaim for its unique style and impressive performance, particularly in its V12 variants.

At the heart of the XJS V12 models was Jaguar's renowned 5.3-liter V12 engine, which was later upgraded to a 6.0-liter version in the 1990s. This engine was a marvel of engineering, offering smooth power delivery and a level of refinement befitting a luxury grand tourer. The V12's performance was robust, with the earlier models producing around 295 horsepower, enabling a luxurious yet spirited driving experience.

The design of the XJS was a significant shift from the E-Type, featuring a more angular and aerodynamic shape. The car was longer and wider, providing a more spacious and comfortable interior. Inside, the XJS was a testament to Jaguar's commitment to luxury, adorned with high-quality leather, wood veneer, and advanced (for the era) conveniences and amenities.
